The company “Banik Rubber Industries” was established in the year 1962. The Company earned a name in Bengal for durable, quality enriched but reasonably priced hawai chappals. The Company expanded to its present strength of five manufacturing facilities and a host of outsourcing units, which supply exclusively to the company. From a modest 500 pairs per day in the seventies, a strong marketing network of sales distribution through dealer-retailer structure ensures a sale of a whopping high volume per day. “ Ajanta ” Hawai and Shoe is now a brand to reckon with in India .
Diversification followed naturally. To cater to the semi-urban and city market, the company stepped into EVA Injected footwear, PVC and Canvass footwear and many others varieties. Recently, Ajanta Footcare Limited was founded to provide quality leather and other varieties footwear to the people of West Bengal exclusively through the company showrooms strewn all over the state.
To meet the future demand, the company is always on an expansion mode. The company has the corporate headquarters in its own office building at the heart of kolkata, which houses the finance, human resources and marketing departments, etc.
